Thank you for your interest in the New Joystick Bot for Discord! You will need to complete some setup steps to get everything working properly.
As a subscriber, you will be asked to authenticate your discord with the bot when your subscribe to a streamer who has subscriber roles set up in their server. You can also do this manually with
!discord auth
If you do not wish to receive reminders, or if you wish to remove the connection between your account on joystick and your account on discord, you can use
!discord unauth
or
!discord no
This will prevent you from seeing any future reminders, and will end any subscriber roles you currently have.
Once you have authenticated your discord account with one streamer for this purposes, the bot will remember you, and will assign you subscriber roles in other streamers using this bot.
To accesss the Joystick config page for this bot, enter:
!discord config
into chat in your publisher view, and the bot should whisper a link to you with your config url.
If you previously used the old discord bot, you can import your settings with:
!discord import
This will NOT import what roles are tagged, because those are tied to discord channels, not streamers.
To function, this bot requires installing the matching Discord bot. Click here to install the bot on Discorrd.
To select what discord channel(s) to announce when you go live in, enter the command /follow, and then the username. For instance:
/follow dmntdvl
If you would like to notify a discord role, use /mention and then the role name, such as:
/mention @Notification Crew
You can also use /mentionall to mention everyone. Do NOT do /mention @everyone. That will not populate properly in the notification.
To set up your automated subscriber role, you will need to get a pair key on the config page, to verify with the bot. Use /subrole [key] [@role]. For instance:
/subrole 7035fa8f676969f3 @Subcriber
Ensure that the bot has higher permissions than the subscriber role in the role heirarchy for your server, or it will not be able to assign the role poperly.
