Thank you for installing the Joystick Notifier for Discord! Please read the following instructions to ensure that the bot is set up properly. Implementing this bot will take a few steps to ensure that Joystick and Discord communicate appropriately.
After installing the bot, go to your Publisher View on joystick.tv and set your Discord notification message by typing "!discord set" and then the message. For instance:
!discord set Come watch me play live on joystick <3
This will set your message as well as linking your username and your channel ID. You can enter this command again at any time to update your notifier message, and doing so is mandatory any time you change you username
After doing this, you can add the Joystick Notifier to a Discord server, click here.
Once the Discord bot is in your server, select the channel in which you wish to receive notifications. In a channel of your choice, type "@Joystick Notifier sub" and then the username to which you wish to subscrbe. For instance:
@Joystick Notifier follow AnneSao
This command is not case sensitive for the command name or for the username.
The next time you go live, this bot should notify your Discord in the channel of your choice!
If you wish to attach role mentions to notifications in a given channel, do so with "@Joystick Notifier mention". This must be a proper role in the server. It cannot be a user, and it cannot be @everyone. "@Joystick Notifier unmention" removes the mention for that channel. For instance:
@Joystick Notifier mention @Joystick Buddies
In order to @everyone in a server, use the command:
@Joystick Notifier mention_all
If you ever wish to stop receiving notifications in a channel, you can use "@Joystick Notifier unfollow". For instance:
@Joystick Notifier unfollow breakfast
@Joystick Notifier unfollow all
Similarly, you can remove mentions from a channel with
@Joystick Notifier unnmention
Simply assigning a new mention to a channel will overwrite the previous one.
You can see a list of all users followed in a channel, as well as what role is being notified, if any, with:
@Joystick Notifier list
If you have an affiliate link and would like to use it as the link for your Discord notification, you can set that in your Publisher View with "!discord url" and then the url of your link. For instance:
!discord url https://joystick.tv/t/u/breakfast?t=ddf9a439
You can reset the url to the default url with the "defaulturl" command in your Publisher View, like so:
!discord defaulturl
